OUR HISTORY

What started out as a Bible Study group in 1996 is now Word of Faith Christian Center-Vicksburg, MS. Pastor Kevin E. Wright began conducting Bible Study at The Southern Cultural Heritage Center which soon moved to the Holiday Inn in Vicksburg. Before long, attendance had more than doubled; therefore, requiring a more suitable facility. Services then moved to the Emmich Building where nearly 100people came to hear the Word of God. While at the Emmich Building, the once weekly bible study expanded to include church services on Sunday mornings as well. Within a year, the word spread throughout the River City and once again expansion was inevitable.

Word of Faith Christian Center, Vicksburg, MS, was officially dedicated on April 25, 1999. At that time, its founder, Rev. Kevin E. Wright was the Senior Pastor. Hundreds attended its dedication service and witnessed the installation of its first deacons: Minister Kevin Abraham, Willie Brown, Harold Gaines and Larry Walker.

Shortly after celebrating its 1st church anniversary, founder Rev. Kevin E. Wright installed Rev. Reginald L. Walker as Senior Pastor of Word of Faith Christian Center-Vicksburg, MS in January 2001.

God’s faithfulness has continued to shine in Vicksburg under Pastor Walker’s leadership. The ministry has continued to thrive. Word of Faith – Vicksburg now holds its services in a beautiful 18,000 square feet facility that sets on over 7.5 acres of land.
